Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in Arizona heavy civil construction and ADOT projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive estimating experience involving roadways, bridges, structures, earthwork, mass grading, and dirt work.
This position will be responsible for developing complete and competitive estimates for large-scale heavy civil and transportation projects throughout Arizona.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for ADOT, roadway, bridge, structural, and heavy civil projects.
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing.
Estimate earthwork, mass grading, excavation, dirt work, roadway, bridge, and structural scopes.
Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, bid documents, and contract requirements.
Develop production rates and evaluate construction methods and project sequencing.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
Identify project risks, scope gaps, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities.
Participate in bid reviews and finalize pricing prior to submission.
Maintain historical estimating data and cost information.
Coordinate with operations and project teams during preconstruction and project handoff.
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
Qualifications
10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience.
Strong ADOT project experience required.
Estimating experience with roadways, bridges, structures, earthwork, mass grading, and dirt work.
Strong knowledge of Arizona heavy civil construction practices and market conditions.
Experience with a large heavy civil contractor in Arizona strongly preferred.
Ability to independently develop estimates from initial plan review through final bid submission.
Strong understanding of quantity takeoffs, production rates, labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
Experience with heavy civil estimating and takeoff software.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
